Sole and joint personal Saving accounts are available for people aged 18 or over in Turkey and only available to people who are resident in Turkey
Can I open an Online Savings Account for business use?
No, this account is specifically for personal use only.
How do I open an account?
Please visit your local Fortis branch, your adviser shall help you further. At this moment it is not possible to open a Savings account via Internet Banking.
How much do I need to deposit to open an account?
The minimum required amount to open a Savings account is:
For EUR: 1.000.- For USD and TL 5.000.-
When will I get interest?
Interest accrues daily on your savings and is credited to your Savings account on a daily basis, which means that you will get interest on interest!
How do I deposit money into my account?
You can deposit money to your Savings Account via Internet Banking, cash at the counter of a Fortis branch.
How do I withdraw money from my Savings Account?
You can make withdrawals by using phone and internet banking or cash at the counter of Fortis branch.
When will I start earning interest?
You begin earning interest from the next day your account is opened and a deposit is made. You earn interest on the entire balance in your account, regardless of the amount. Interest is calculated daily and paid daily on your balance.
Will I be informed if the interest rate on my Savings Account changes?
If the interest rate changes, information will be provided to you by our branches and our website will also have updated interest rates available, or you can call us.
